A Monmouth University/NJ Press Media Poll late last week found Christie's approval rating among registered voters at a surprising 50 percent to 41 percent who disapprove, a near reversal of fortune from the same poll in May, when Christie was at a... After all, it's only one poll, taken in the heat of summer, when families are on vacation and when seniors, whom Christie just placated with $100 credits for their air-conditioning bills, are more likely to take a pollster's question, one party... After his Mad King George line-item veto — slashing aid for poor women, kids in after-school programs and an assortment of low-income programs that suburban Republicans loathe — Democrats said Christie had gone too far. Governor Christie's public image should be suffering from a black eye, but it seems the Democrats are finding it hard to lay a glove on him. This, after those Draconian cuts, the negative press and a Democratic Party inquest that tried to fill the summer news cycle.

Grace's Birdcage: The Dining Room : Before

When house-shopping the dining room was a big priority for us. We pictured this great, big, use-everyday-center-of-the-house-cozy room. While we loved the bones of this room, we weren't crazy about the finishes (except the dark wood floors and white trim -those we loved. which meant we had a HUGE dining table in storage before we even had a dining room. About two years before house shopping we found a table at Crate and Barrel that we loved and made friends with the sales associate. We also loved that the fireplace added that cozy element and the built-in storage had the old-house character and definite functionality. As you can see by the floorplan this room is definitely at the center of the house (could there be any more doors. It has a large radiator on one wall that is no longer in use but we love the charm it adds....
