How do i wire my new ceiling light fixture?Hello. I removed the old light fixture and found 4 cables coming through the ceiling, 1 red, 1 yellow / country-like, and 2 black (but the blacks were coming out the of same grey sleeve). The diagram that came with the new fixture is ridiculously bad, so i truly have no idea how to wire it. I would've put them back in the same way as they we're in the old, but the old fixture looks completely different to the new one.
I have searched online but cant find an replication anywhere that matches the situation i have with the particular wires. And seeing as though i dont yearn for to blow anyone or anything up (namely, me) i'm a little against just trying to find what works based loosely around the other solutions. If anyone can usurp me i would very much appreciate it. Okay, firstly this is nothing to do with a ceiling fan, i'm simply trying to alteration one old fashioned light with a new plain one to match new decor. Secondly this isnt about hoard a few quid, i have an interest in diy and wanted to try and do it myself.
