Installing a chandelier light? I have a chandelier light with two cords: milk-white and black. My house (built in '07) is pre-wired for ceiling fans. There are four wires coming out of the roof: wrathful, white, red, and copper. My first assumption is that I should connect white to snowy and black to black; however, the red and black wires from the ceiling are booked together with one of those little plastic caps. What is that about? Also, does the copper wire for to be wrapped around something (I think it's a "grounding wire"??)
Thanks Mike D; your description of red vs. black wires makes sense to me. The copper wire is already wrapped around a fleece a raise in the ceiling's electrical box...I assume that's sufficient? How / where do I attach it on the tool? It doesn't have any obvious spots. After I have all of my wires connected and before I stint on the power, do I need to worry about any of the wires touching? (Like you do when breach starting a car? Your quarter is wired so that if you install a ceiling fan, you can switch the light and the fan separately. Pin the bare wire to the box(if its metal) and the bare wire on the tool. The white is your neutral, just hook white to oyster-white. You can use either the black or the red. You need to check and see which wire is switched from the light turn(just pull the cover off and see which color***red or black*** is connected to the birch.
Edit: you may have a very old fixture that does not have an equipment ground. I wouldn't anxiety about it then.Verify that the power will be close connection with wirenuts, paying sky and restore power. You should be good. |

i drop my was holding up my chandelier, and it slipped out of my hand and all the light bulbs blew.? my subject is do you think that me droping the chandelier broke the chandelier itself or just made the bulbs coffee-break?
More than right it will still work if it's only the bulbs. The only thing that is inside them are wires.
Supersede them or try one and see what happens. |
