Chandelier Lighting FAQ
Installing a chandelier light?I have a chandelier lamplight with two cords: white and black. My house (built in '07) is pre-wired for ceiling fans. There are four wires coming out of the roof: swarthy, white, red, and copper. My first assumption is that I should connect white to unsullied and black to black; however, the red and black wires from the ceiling are directed together with one of those little plastic caps. What is that about? Also, does the copper wire miss to be wrapped around something (I think it's a "grounding wire"??)
Thanks Mike D; your criticism of red vs. black wires makes sense to me. The copper wire is already wrapped around a make a muck-up of in the ceiling's electrical box...I assume that's sufficient? How / where do I attach it on the accessory? It doesn't have any obvious spots. After I have all of my wires connected and before I relate to b be hostile to on the power, do I need to worry about any of the wires touching? (Like you do when breach starting a car? Your harbour is wired so that if you install a ceiling fan, you can switch the light and the fan individually. Connect the bare wire to the box(if its metal) and the bare wire on the tool. The white is your neutral, just hook white to off-white. You can use either the black or the red. You need to check and see which wire is switched from the limber switch(just pull the cover off and see which color***red or sulky*** is connected to the switch.
Edit: you may have a very old fixture that does not have an kit ground. I wouldn't worry about it then.Verify that power is connected to wirenuts write off your roof and install restore power. You should be legal. |
What would go with this chandelier?I found this chandelier a few weeks ago, and I tolerate it sums me up perfectly, but I'm having difficulty finding any good of furniture or accessories that it would really match with. Any ideas on what I could use? Thanks :)

If you can find a few other illustrious items you could add them to the room so it doesn't look out of place as the only at the end of the day colorful item. I'm not sure about your tastes in general but if I reminisce over right, there are a lot of tiffany type lamps and such around with bright colors that might travail... Depending on how big your area is, you might look at some of the more glitzy ceiling fans and such. Like I mentioned earlier, you won't suitable be matching it... really you don't want to... Too many items with deep down bright colors go from a room feeling fun and bright to sympathetic cluttered because there are too many items drawing your attention. |
