How do I break a fluorescent lamp without smashing the glass? I need to break or damage a fluorescent lamp (long story) without smashing the sun-glasses, I want to make it flash and flicker like they do at the end of their spirit. I know that shorting out the cathodes on the ends of the tube can about it to flash but i'm wondering if there's a better way to do it where the emision mix is sputtered off the cathodes.
