This Old Tub and Sink features sinks, bathtubs and fixtures that have been reclaimed or recycled—not reproduced. Thanks to the Internet, you can find just about any vintage or period-appropriate fixture for your home for sale. Surprisingly, what caught both of our attentions was the vintage kitchen in the characters’ home featured throughout the movie, which is set in the 1920s. The kitchen sink was one of the old cast-iron styles with the built-in drain board and curtain skirt. We declared that our next kitchen needed a sink exactly like that one.

What To Do With Bare Vintage Light Fixtures? Good Questions ...
Does anyone know of cheap sources for drum shades with diffusers (not drum shade light fixtures--just the shade), or of any other cost-effective ideas for these lights. I figured out a solution for the single bulb fixture in our bathroom--I'm covering it with a clip on rice paper parasol that is clean and modern looking and goes well with our Marimekko shower curtain. However, I think we can jerry rig a drum shade, by hanging it with wire from the central ring in the fixture. and since the circular part of the metal fixture just above the bulb doesn't detach so there's no room for the fitter of a glass shade. We have several fixtures to work with. I'm at a loss for what to do with these double fixtures. small chandelier shades clipped on upside down look odd and you still get a bunch of exposed bulb. Most drum shades I've seen are well over $100 and don't have diffusers....

changing the lightbulbs in a vintage style light fixture?I have an older style round light fixture that the bulbs burned out in. This fixture has no screws in it and the whole thing turns when i try to turn it to remove it. Also it seems like it moves back and forth in any direction, but never comes down.

Where can I find a vintage push-pull switched light fixture that mounts onto staircase balustrade base post?It looks like a flush mount fixture, but it has a small push pull switch at its base. It mounts onto the end post, or newel post, or number one pos. The fixture sports a glass globe cover.
